I like that song by Armatrading.
I don't know if I'd agree that Grace Jones is a great singer.
But she sure was a very unique personality in music, even among all the other unique people Seeing that video, Anna, reminded me of this one of hers. I
hate what she did to the original song, but the intro is super cool.

I bought their new album at the weekend. Reviews in a few days when I've given it a bit more
listening to. But for now, the song that started my love for The Prodigy. If someone said to me you can only ever listen to one band ever
again, it would be them.

I loved the 1st Grace clip. She is an artist where you have to watch the video - you can't just listen to her, you have to have the visuals to get hte effect of the whole incredible persona! Matt, your clip did give me a chuckle! OK, now on to Tim Finn. This is my favourite of him singing. If you are at a party in NZ (or better still one of Split Enz reunion tours!) the whole audience instantly turns into a bunch of demented pogo sticks when this
song is played!

I liked that Prodigy clip!
I'm a bit worried about my (& my son's) broadband consumption this month so I may have to ease off on these threads for a bit. But I'll post my favourite Neil Finn clip - also from his Split Enz days. I was on my OE (overseas experience) from 79-84. While I was in England "History Never Repeats" got some airplay, but even so I was surprised how much more "commercial" sounding the ENZ had come. If I'm honest, I have to say I prefer their later stuff. This is Message to My Girl. I know Crowded House played their Split Enz stuff when performing in Australasia anyway, so you may know this. & I looked up a music encyclopedia when I was last in the library (I'm taking this thread very seriously ) & their biggest hit overseas was "I got You" which reached number 12 on
the UK charts. I love the video to it, so I'll cheat a bit & suggest people check that one out too!

Thumbs up on the Split Enz track. Doesn't Neil look so young? To quote one comment: 'this is the best band ever. i really think they make the beatles look like amateurs.' Well... I wouldn't say that, but yes they were really good.

& neil has aged well too. He is lucky he has that cheeky boy face like Paul McCartney & Tony Hicks (the Hollies) where they seem to stay young looking.

I love the hook in that T-Rex tune.
Though I prefer the studio version to the "screaming chicks" live bit.
